It is simply hilarious to think that merely running for
city council makes one qualified to be on our city council.
But that seems to be the case with Susan Harvey now running
for city council. Where has she been all these
years? I've been wondering the same thing.
Does anyone knows her or what her candidacy is all about?
What are her qualifications, experience, education? Does
she have a website? Is she being backed by big land developers
like Forest Galt was in 2002?
In ten years, I have never met this woman, nor seen her
at any of our city council meetings. Now, she feels qualified
to lead our town? Okay. What am I missing?
Probably a nice lady, but city council? I don't
think so. Not with my vote.
What I understand is that Ms. Harvey is the nextdoor neighbor
to Mayor Pat Gilardi; that's it. How convenient
for the mayor, you say? I agree. Something is
wrong here. The appearance of taking your poor neighbor
under your wing and brainwashing her will simply be too
much for the voters and will come back to haunt the mayor
and her reputation unless she can pull a rabbit out of her
hat on this one. Susan appears to look like our puppet
candidate for 2008, and this appears to be cause for real
concern.
It is simply unbelievable to me that someone as inexperienced
in city affairs is being held up by the mayor as a qualified
city leader with the courage and experience necessary to
stand up to a runaway city staff.
If anyone knows anything about Susan Harvey and her recent
interest in local politics, please email me. I'd like to
meet her and see what she is all about. We don't
need our mayor to have two votes at City Hall, do we?
